Kamath & Rau are a professional services firm that was established in 1970 in the coastal city of Mangaluru by its two founders, Late SS Kamath and I V Dayaker Rau. At the very core, the vision was to empower clients to Start, Sustain and Scale their ventures with confidence and clarity while building lasting personal relationships as a true partner in growth.
After a journey of more than 5 decades, the firm has gone from strength to strength with the induction of new partners covering multiple service lines across different sectors. The firm’s cred of keeping client interest at the forefront of all that we do, has attracted new client relationships while solidifying existing relationships. In fact, it is not uncommon for us to take meetings with 3 generations sitting across the table to talk shop while also reminiscing the times gone by!!
For over five decades, Kamath & Rau has played a defining role in shaping generations of Chartered Accountants. To date, the firm has trained more than 350 Articled Assistants, of whom more than 250 have successfully cleared & qualified as Chartered Accountants. Our academic legacy is further distinguished by over 50 All India Rank holders (Ranging from AIR 1-50) across both the CA Intermediate and Final examinations. Our alumni today lead from the front across global corporations, successful professional practices and entrepreneurial ventures.

Beyond the Firm, he rendered distinguished service to the profession and the community. He served as Chairman of the Mangalore Branch of SIRC of ICAI (1984-1988), President of the Rotary Club of Mangalore (1982-1983), and President of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (2000-2001). He was also associated with the Canara High School Association from 1987 as a member of its Managing Committee and later served as its President from 2011 to 2020. He also served as a director and office-bearer in several companies and associations, contributing meaningfully to civic and professional institutions.
His life and work continue to inspire us. We remain committed to carrying forward the foundation he built, with the same sense of purpose, integrity, and quiet excellence that defined his journey.
Dayaker Rau is one of the Founding Partners of the Firm. Over 5 decades, apart from audits of various entities, he has specialized in taxes with a focus on assessments, tax representation and litigation.
With his years of professional experience, he also plays an important role as a Mentor to the other partners and members of the firm.
Parineeth Rau is one of the Managing Partners of the Firm with over 15 years of post-qualification experience. Prior to joining the firm, he was employed with KPMG in their Accounting Advisory Service line. He is involved with the Assurance, Tax (Direct Tax) and Advisory service lines. He has been involved in various audits across sectors including those of listed companies involved in manufacturing and banking. He also represents clients in connection with assessments and tax litigations. On the advisory front, he responds to the various requirements of clients such as certifications, forensic investigations, Virtual CFO services, project financing etc.
As a Managing Partner of the firm, he takes a keen interest in the overall development of candidates pursuing articleship at the firm.
Akshay is a Partner with close to 5 years of post-qualification experience. He is involved with the Assurance, Tax (Direct Tax and Indirect Tax) and Advisory service lines. He has been involved in various audits across sectors including that of a listed bank. He regularly represents clients before tax authorities in connection with assessments and tax litigations. On the advisory front, he responds to the various requirements of clients such as certifications, trainings, preparation of financial statements, project financing etc.
